Students in the 2018 Energy Academy and their Opt4STEM leaders took time out for a photo on Illinois Tech’s Mies Campus.
In designing their energy-efficient model houses, students were required to include at least one window and one door.
Insulation on the floors and walls could not exceed 3 centimeters.
The walls and flooring were covered with a weak insulator, such as poster board.
Windows did not have to open but were required to provide easy visibility.
On the final day of the Energy Academy, families had the chance to admire the student model house creations at an event at the Museum of Science and Industry.
